As I was approaching an aggressive race season for fall 2026 I was excited to see Emma as a speaker on mental fortitude at Mammoth Trailfest. After attending her session, I immediately used many of the tactics she shared on the 26k course that weekend.
From there. I decided to work with Emma to manage some of the new challenges I was taking on including a 100k distance with a looped course!
2027 will bring a return to shorter distances and an attempt to smash a 10 year old half marathon PR. I look forward to engaging further with Emma as I tackle some new (old) race challenges!
Working with Emma at Half Full has been an incredibly valuable part of my athletic journey. She has helped me identify and break down mental barriers that I didn't always recognize were holding me back, while giving me the tools and perspective to approach challenges with greater confidence, resilience, and intention.
Through our work together, I've learned that becoming a stronger athlete isn't solely about physical conditioning; it's equally about developing the mental fortitude to trust yourself, navigate adversity, and recognize your own potential. She has challenged me to reconsider limiting beliefs, step outside of my comfort zone, and approach both training and competition with a stronger, more constructive mindset.
I appreciate her ability to meet me where I am while still challenging me to grow. I've gained a much deeper understanding of the mental side of performance, and I feel better equipped to navigate the inevitable highs, lows, and uncertainties that come with being an athlete.
I'm incredibly grateful for the perspective, tools, and confidence I've gained through working with her. She has helped me become not just a stronger athlete, but a more mentally resilient one.
